Who is eligible?
Any child is eligible who meets three criteria:
- The child must live in the New London, CT school district.
- The child must be entering grades Preschool - 3.
- The child's household income must fall within program guidelines.
What schools are eligible?
Any area private school or any area public school is eligible.
How do I apply?
Refer to the Income Eligibility page to see if your
family qualifies financially.
Fill out the application and mail it to The Compass Scholarship Fund.
If you qualify and are awarded a Scholarship, we will notify you by mail.
Who is accepted to the Program?
Are grades important?
The Compass Scholarship Fund is based solely on need. The only academic requirement is that the student continues to be enrolled in school and maintain passing grades.
How does the scholarship work?
The Compass Scholarship Fund will pay 80% of each childs tuition up to $2500 per year, with the family or school paying the remaining 20%. (Contact the Compass Fund regarding the availability of additional matching scholarship funds for public school.) The scholarship award is for three years provided the child continues to be eligible.
What if my child already attends a non-public school?
20% of the Scholarships are awarded to students who meet the eligibility requirement and currently attend non-public school.

- The Compass Fund is based soley on need
- Any area private or public school is eligible Scholarship award is for three years
- We are a 501 © (3) organization, so your gift is tax deductible
- Approximately 90% of all contributions go directly to scholarships
- Expansion into other Connecticut cities is a priority
